PT Omni Inovasi Indonesia Tbk (formerly known as Tiphone Mobile Indonesia Tbk) or the Company was established on June 25, 2008. The Company was founded to meet the needs of the mobile telecommunications industry in Indonesia. The Company's initial business focus was on trading telecommunications devices, namely mobile phones along with spare parts, accessories, airtime, and repair services.
As the Company evolved, it has now shifted its focus to distributing prepaid airtime and starter packs from cellular operators and other providers in Indonesia.
The Company began its business in the mobile telecommunications industry by launching Tiphone-branded mobile phones. These phones featured modern and attractive designs, equipped with the latest features, and were offered at affordable prices compared to other products in their class.
In 2010, the Company expanded its business into mobile phone repair services and the provision of mobile phone applications and content by establishing two subsidiaries, PT Setia Utama Service (SUS) and PT Setia Utama Media Aplikasi (SUMA).
At the beginning of 2011, the Company further expanded by acquiring two companies: Telesindo Shop (TS), which operated in the retail and outlet sector, and PT Excel Utama Indonesia (EUI), a national dealer and distributor of XL Axiata. Through this development, PT Tiphone Mobile Indonesia Tbk believed that the positive collaboration between the Company and its subsidiaries would enhance the Company's performance.
As a company that continues to grow and strives to be the best, the Company not only focuses on its core business but also recognizes the importance of providing additional services for customer convenience and comfort. Therefore, the Company has expanded its services by offering internationally branded mobile phones, in addition to the Tiphone brand, along with accessories. Furthermore, the Company provides hardware and software repair services, spare parts sales, and a product gallery supported by the latest retail store concept.
In the sale of prepaid starter packs and top-up vouchers, the Company has partnered with PT Telekomunikasi Seluler (Telkomsel), a subsidiary of PT Telekomunikasi Indonesia Tbk, and PT XL Axiata Tbk.
The Company's success in selling prepaid starter packs and top-up vouchers has been recognized by several partner operators. This is reflected in the numerous awards the Company has received, including being named Telkomsel’s Best Distributor for 8 consecutive years and XL Axiata’s Best Distributor for 4 consecutive years.
To support all its business ventures and accelerate the Company's growth, in January 2012, the Company began listing its shares on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) under the trading code TELE.
In 2014, PT PINS Indonesia, a subsidiary of Telkom Group, became one of the Company's shareholders. With the entry of PT PINS Indonesia, the Company will focus on distributing Telkom Group products, particularly Telkomsel.
The Company's progress is supported by several positive contributing factors, including Indonesia's stable and conducive economic conditions, the development and availability of mobile technology access, the increasing penetration of mobile phone users, the growing features and functions of mobile phones, and the intense competition among cellular network operators in a positive industry climate.
